What Does Jewelry Mean to You?

What Does Jewelry Mean to You?

I recently, completed a jewelry collection. I find it amazing how many parts and pieces it takes to bring it to fruition. It is so worth all the effort because, I love to create. I cannot imagine doing anything else.

I believe creating jewelry aligns with part of my purpose. Some may say it is just jewelry and I get that. However, it is much more! You see next to air, water, food, clothing, and shelter; we humans need outlets for self-expression.

That is why jewelry for centuries has been a critical part of history and daily existence.

It expresses our hopes, dreams, love, appreciation, identifies where we have been and where we are going. Jewelry is one of the great ways to express our uniqueness. It helps us to tell our story to the world and who we are and what we stand for. I use jewelry to bring more beauty, peace, harmony, kindness, trust, and love into this world.

Do you know the stories behind these pieces?

I had the opportunity to visit the Smithsonian in Washington, D. C.

What does jewelry mean to you?

Is there a special piece that you cherish that was passed down to you from your, grandma or loved one? I have a special heart and key lapel pin that my aunt gave to me at eight years old; right after my grandpa passed. I remember placing it in my little jewelry box. You know the one with the twirling ballerina that plays music when you turn the key in the back of it. Ok, so I am dating myself! I still have the lapel pin to this very day. It is just as important to me now as it was then because my aunt is no longer with us.

What memories do you want to help create and celebrate with a piece of jewelry?

I am sure whether you are a mom, auntie, grandma, or friend; a gift of jewelry from you will be an extra special piece from your heart that will bring lasting memories of love, joy and happiness when worn. Let us start by identifying those special people in your life and think about upcoming events, milestones, and accomplishments that they have had or going to have along with the rough lessons learned, too! Jewelry is an integral part of our personal journeys.
